I want to get a grasp of your needs as a single parent. I know what mine are - but how can we help each other? Tell me your biggest concerns and toughest battles.
I have a newfound respect for single parents. As a separated and soon-to-be-divorced mother, I can finally relate to the issues single parents face. Whether the household has a single parent leader due to divorce, separation, death or absenteeism, it is tough work. I can honestly say I have had a wake up call these last several months of my life. I went from being a stay-at-home mom to a mother that works full time. I never knew laundry could pile up so fast or the refregerator empty so quickly. Learning how to budget time and keep everything flowing has been my hardest challenge. I used to shop on a daily basis - now I squeeze it in after picking up the kids from daycare and before dinner. Gone is the luxury of grocery shopping alone. And I never thought I would utter those words - groceries and luxury - in the same sentence. What are the biggest hurdles you face as a single parent? Discipline? Making mealtime? I have set up a poll and am interested in finding your answers next week. I will share them and do some followup research so we can all benefit. Life is hard enough to travel through, lets help each other! Tina
